Festival wedding at Wytham Village Hall in Oxford

A half-Indian, half-British village wedding — with unreal curries and a brilliantly bonkers mask first dance

Vicky & Advaith’s wedding at Wytham Village Hall had that proper relaxed village feel from the start — easy, summery, and not too structured. They had their ceremony outside in a gazebo on the cricket pitch, which instantly set the tone. Everyone was close, there was loads of space, and it felt more like a really good gathering than a formal “wedding day schedule”.

What made it especially them was the mix of cultures running through the day. Advaith’s Indian, Vicky’s British, and it all blended in a way that felt natural — not like a theme, just their people and their lives in the same place.

And the food… honestly, the curries were incredible. The kind of meal guests keep talking about while they’re still eating it, and then bring up again later on with a “seriously, that was so good”.

Then they completely changed the energy for the first dance with this brilliantly chaotic, Mexican-inspired mask/streamer thing — the sort of moment that makes everyone crowd in, laugh, cheer, and get properly involved. Colour everywhere, zero self-consciousness, and suddenly the whole night felt like a party.
