A quirky, laid-back wedding at Abbey Buildings & Unicorn Theatre, Abingdon

Thinking of getting married at the Abbey Buildings in Abingdon, Matt & Stacy’s wedding is the perfect inspiration!

Matt and Stacy’s wedding at Abbey Buildings and Unicorn Theatre in Abingdon was the perfect blend of historic charm and fun. They chose these venues for their character -think beautiful old brick walls and the kind of atmosphere that feels both intimate and full of stories from the past.

In a fun theatrical twist, the ceremony itself took place on the stage of the Unicorn Theatre: it felt like the couple were in a show of their own, surrounded by friends and family in the heart of the theatre. After vows were exchanged, the celebration moved outside, where guests enjoyed delicious treats from ice cream and burger vans conveniently parked just outside the walls.

Entertainment came in the form of garden games such as giant Jenga and croquet in the beautiful outdoor space, which added to the relaxed, playful vibe of the day. Inside, the reception which was decorated by themselves had a really personal feel with speeches that had everyone laughing and a dance floor that saw plenty of action as the night went on.

Abbey Buildings and the Unicorn Theatre are perfect combination for couples who want a unique venue with historic charm, without sacrificing the laid-back, fun atmosphere. If you’re planning your own wedding at these venues, I’d love to capture your day – do get in touch!
