A ceremony on the theatre stage, then burgers, ice cream and games outside
There aren’t many weddings where the couple walk onto a theatre stage to get married — which is exactly why I loved this one.
Matt & Stacy chose the Unicorn Theatre at Abbey Buildings because it felt different. Old brick, loads of character, and absolutely none of the “stiff venue” energy. Their ceremony took place on stage, framed by the theatre lights, with all their guests watching from the seats.
It was simple, funny, and full of personality.
Outside, things got even more relaxed — burger van, ice cream van, garden games and people properly settling in for the afternoon. No rushing from one thing to the next, just space to enjoy it.
By the time everyone moved back inside for the speeches and dancing, it already felt like the sort of wedding you don’t want to end.
