A colourful summer wedding at The Perch Pub, Oxford

Riverside vows under the willow, a marquee in the garden and a ceilidh

A summer wedding at The Perch always feels like a good idea.

Tasha & Will made the most of the riverside setting, meeting down by the water before the ceremony and then saying their vows beneath a huge willow tree. The whole day had that easy pub-garden feel — guests with drinks in hand and kids running about.

The reception was in a marquee in the garden, full of colour and personality. They swapped out a traditional cake for a savoury cheese tower (which disappeared fast), and brought in a ceilidh band for the evening.

A quick shout to Emily, the event coordinator at The Perch — she was brilliant. Everything ran smoothly without it ever feeling “managed”, which is exactly what you want. When the light started to soften, we nipped out for a few couple portraits by the river at Port Meadow. It’s only a short walk and it’s such a nice breather — wide open space, calm by the water with the sun setting, then straight back to everyone.

Within minutes the dancefloor was chaos in the best way — spinning, laughing, slightly out of breath. Exactly how it should be.
